Hello Holidays, Navigating Our First University Break!

Aioli everyone. We hope you have all been well. This week we are saying hello holidays after completing our first trimester back in studies. We are navigating our holiday break. If you are new to our site, we are started study a Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Laws in January, and never in our wildest dreams did we think we could or would be able to study this degree, but here we are making it happen. We are studying externally but wow has been an amazing ride being back in the classroom and learning again with lots of new friends and teachers.

So far, we have started off the degree taking on a full-time study load, 3 subjects for a 12-week trimester. The trimester is split up into 5-week increments, so studying for 5 weeks, then a week's break and then back on for another 5 with an exam week to follow at the end of the trimester.

We chose to start the degree with 2 foundational law subjects and one business subject, but in the next trimester that is going to change, with us taking 2 business subjects and 1 law subject. Starting the degree with the 2 foundational law subjects has given us a great base going forward with the degree, while the business subject has been a great way to ease back into business studies, but we are waiting to see what challenges come our way with the content in trimester 2.

Midterms and Finals

In our first trimester back in study, we got a taste for what the assessments will be like in in degree in going through our first round of midterms and finals. It felt like once we had reached midterms it was a steady set of assessments right to the end with one final exam for one of the law subjects to finish it all.

It was the first time we had done an exam online using respondus. If you haven't heard of respondus before, it is a program that uses your computer's camera and microphone to monitor you during the exam, it also stops you for accessing your computer's hard drive and going online so you cannot google for answers. Going into the exam we were very nervous about since it was a new program to us but now after the fact we feel okay with it and understand why the university uses it.

Coming to an End

While the trimester has officially ended for us now after our last exam final, it has been an amazing journey so far. From where we started to now developing our legal brains and building in business, we have already come a long way in just the first trimester alone and we are excited to see where it goes.

But at the end of it all, we like to think we will never stop learning, we have that thirst that we probably never quench. We are excited with our studies to see where it takes us and the opportunities it will present. So, in most respects, we are never really at the end, just taking a break before the next adventure/trimester begins.

Holiday Hopes, Navigating our Holidays

Now that we have reached trimester break, and we have a bit more time to catch up on things we have put aside thanks to study, we have a lot of holiday hopes.

One of biggest hopes is probably trying to finish the novel since we have been reading since last year. We have been slowing working our way through the Throne of Glass series, but with the amount of reading that comes along with studying law, we have been reluctant to pick the novels to read. But now that we have some time to catch our breath and relax, we have picked it up again and hope to finish it this year at least.

You all may have noticed we have come back to the site and to the blog too, but we hope with this next trimester we can be better manage our time and maintain and create great more fun and fresh content for you all. At the moment we have been trying to write/type from a personal perspective to create a better connection with our audience. We hope it has been helpful, and you are enjoying it.

Another hope we are going to try but in realization probably won't happen as much is to try and start watching some of the online tv content and movies we have been wanting to watch. In trying to relax we did start watching some of the series suits, but we want to start again since we feel like we are missing a lot of detail there, but we shall see how we go.

Going Forward

For the rest of the holidays, we hope we can catch up on all our hopes and create a good plan going into our next trimester. At the moment we are hoping we have secured enough points to have passed all our subjects, and we are getting prepared to take on the next lot of content coming our way.
